GAZA, (PIC)-- A Palestinian man was injured after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired at him to the east of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, on Saturday morning while working at the garbage dump. Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesman, told the PIC reporter that Abdullah Zanin, 32, was slightly wounded in the shooting. IOF troops deployed along the eastern borders of Gaza routinely violate the calm agreement signed between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions under Egyptian patronage. ---------

Ashraf al-Qidra told Ma'an said that Abdullah al-Zaneen, 32, was shot by Israeli forces east of Beit Hanoun. Al-Zaneen was employed by the Gaza government to work in a rubbish tip in the area. An Israeli army spokeswoman said that "initial investigations show there are no reports of the incident." On Dec. 21, Israeli forces shot and injured five Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, al-Qidra said. Israeli troops have shot at Gazans near the border at least 10 times since the end of an eight-day offensive last month. Some 30 people have been wounded in the incidents, Gaza officials said. |
