Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers, stationed at the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, fired several shells at farmers in Juhr Al Ad Deek area, south east of Gaza City, and wounded one farmer.

The wounded resident was moved to a local hospital.

The shelling also set ablaze farmlands planted with wheat, barley, citrus and orange trees.

The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture slammed the shelling and stated that the Israeli military escalation against the farmers and their lands in Gaza, comes paralleled with Israeli violations against the farmers and their lands in the West Bank.

The Ministry demanded the International Community to intervene and stop the Israeli violations against the Palestinians, their homes and their lands.
