Witnesses say limited Israeli incursion in central Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Several Israeli military vehicles reportedly entered the Gaza Strip east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp on Tuesday morning, firing light ammunition into the area, witnesses said.

An Israeli military spokesman said no military activity was reported in the area during the morning, but said forces were aware that a projectile had been launched from the Strip overnight.

The reported site of the limited incursion was the same as a report from the militant group affiliated with the Popular Resistance Committees, which said fighters launched mortars at an invading force the night before.
