IOF Shoots Palestinian Collecting Scrap near Erez Crossing

At app. 9:45am on Tuesday 26 October 2010, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at a group of Palestinian civilians as they were collecting scrap and rubble from the destroyed structures near the border fence between Gaza and Israel. The group was about 300 meters from the border fence near the Erez crossing in the North Gaza district when IOF fired at them. As a result, Haytham Ali Faraj Shalah, 37, was injured in the right thigh. Medical sources at Kamal Odwan Hospital described his injury as light. These workers left the area without finishing their works.
